Bob was a good friend of mine at Highland High.  After I left Ohio I lost contact with him.  Sometime in the early 2000's he got in touch with me out of the blue and paid me a visit while I lived near Florence, Arizona and we rekindled our friendship.  We continued to correspond via email up to the time of his death.  The news was a great shock to me as we exchanged emails several times a week discussing a wide range of topics, from our days in school to various historical subjects that interested us both.  Around the time of his death I had sent him an email and thought it strange that he did not respond.  I learned of his death through Jim Thompson.  Bob was a great guy, a good and loyal friend. I think of him often and he is missed.
