Bill Hathaway

   William R. Hathaway, 61, of Wadsworth Township, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2003, at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital after a lengthy illness.

   Mr. Hathaway was born in Barberton and resided in the Sharon Township-Wadsworth area most of his life.  He was a 1960 graduate of Highland High School and was employed at Atlantic Tool and Die for four years.  He and his wife previously owned and operated Chippewa Lake Hardware and Sunoco for 18 years and prior to the store was a mechanic with P.I.E. Trucking Co. for 10 years.  He enjoyed his grandchildren and gardening.

   Mr. Hathaway is survived by his wife, Carolyn (nee Mihalik); daughter, Holly Hathaway of Akron; grandchildren, Ashley and Daniel Bateman; sister, Bonnie Buckholdt of Georgia; and brother, Virgil "Bud" Jr.

   He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Sr. and Bertha First Hathaway. and brother, Bruce.

Bill, we all miss you especially Carolyn and your daughter. I am sorry you were so sick for years. You worked hard and suffered. Now you are in peace with no pain. Missed by all your old classmates of 1960. Faye
