JoAnn Patricia Lucas Dimond

JoAnn P. Dimond (nee Lucas), age 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 7th, 2024, after courageously battling a chronic respiratory illness. She departed this world surrounded by the love and warmth of her family, leaving behind a legacy of strength, compassion, and unwavering dedication to her loved ones and community.

Born to the late John S. Lucas and Julia Lucas, JoAnn was a beacon of light in her family. She was a loving mother to her son, Robert P. Dimond, a doting grandmother to Juleah (Dustin) Perez, and a proud great-grandmother to Blake and Alaina Perez. Although she was predeceased by her brothers Michael, James, and Jerome Lucas, as well as her sister Judy Ward-Lucas and brother-in law Gary Ward, she is survived and fondly remembered by her sister-in-law Pamela Lucas, and sister-in-law Marcia Lucas.

JoAnn's life was marked by her remarkable achievements and her unwavering spirit. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts, setting the stage for a distinguished career. For over three decades, she excelled as an executive in the transportation industry, where her leadership, integrity, and work ethic were not only recognized but became the benchmark for excellence.

In her personal life, JoAnn was known for her kindness and generosity. Her commitment to her Catholic faith was evident in the countless hours she dedicated to volunteering at her local church, where she was a source of comfort and support to many. JoAnn's compassion extended beyond her immediate community. She was an ardent supporter of causes that fought against poverty and animal cruelty. Her philanthropic efforts were driven by a sincere desire to make the world a better place, and her impact was felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. JoAnn's memory will be cherished and kept alive through the stories shared by those who knew her. Her laughter, wisdom, and love are imprinted on the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were touched by her gracious presence. She was a woman of great character, and her legacy will continue to inspire and guide us.
Following her service at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Strongsville, JoAnn was laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes charitable contributions to the American Lung Association, The ALS Association, The ASPCA, or any charity of the giver’s choosing.
